We spoke to BCUC ahead of their Capital Craft Beer Festival 2015 Performance.
DYD: How do you live out your slogan: “Music for the people by the people with the people”?
BCUC: By always addressing social issues. By always being true to our indigenous culture.
DYD: What is your favourite local craft beer?
BCUC: Soweto Gold.
DYD: What are you looking forward to most at Capital Craft 2015?
BCUC: Being there and playing for the people of Pretoria and sharpening our new set.
DYD: We’ve seen musicians branching out and starting their own craft beer labels. Would you ever consider embarking on a similar project?
BCUC: No that is not in our plans. But you never know.
DYD: What can we expect from your upcoming set?
BCUC: More traditional roots set , less blues, less funk but more traditional vocal lines and never ending chants.
