My mother always had a remedy for boredom – art. It was simple, you could either help around the house or keep yourself busy with a blank piece of paper. I always chose the latter, sorry mom.
What started out as an activity to pass the time, soon grew into something rather special for me. Drawing is a feeling, it’s somewhere I go to remember or to forget. It’s a challenge, and when it pays off the rewards are monumental. The satisfaction of capturing a looming thought, pulling an idea out of the corner of your mind and giving it shape and form.
Blank pages and screens intimidate me. Erasers and backspace buttons are safety nets. Music gives me guts.
