“We’re sneaker people at Cop Capital. Like our customers, we believe that footwear and fashion should be treated as a conversation instead of a transaction. We’re excited to be able to bring that kind of passion to the local retail arena and hope it shows.”
The opening of Cop Capital’s flagship location in Lynnwood marks an introduction into an exciting new retail avenue for the affluent Pretorian-streetwear enthusiast.
Cop Capital is a part sneaker store, part urban lifestyle space. The store is the creation of local Pretoria musician and avid sneaker-collector, Werner Olckers. Born of out of the dissatisfaction of shopping in a franchise dominated market, Olckers envisions Cop Capital as an opportunity to provide the 012-customer with an entirely new shopping experience. Through the mesh of; the personal touch of small business ownership and a carefully curated stock selection of high end sneakers and streetwear, the Brooklyn-based store aims to be the definitive retail destination for South-Africa’s growing sneaker culture.
Visitors to the store will be able to shop a hand-picked selection of sneaker and street-wear brands in a stylishly minimalist space. The simple design aesthetic provides the perfect backdrop to showcase Cop Capital’s high-end selection of brands and quality products. In addition to the specialty sneaker selection, plans for the future include an online store and house streetwear label. However, Cop Capital’s immediate focus is building a rapport with their local customer base.
The store will be open for business on October 24th, 2015. While official grand opening event plans are still tentative.
