Ah, Splashy Fen 2016. If you say the words over and over enough times, I promise to you that it sounds a little bit like Home. Okay, so maybe that’s just me. But returning to the rolling foothills of Underberg for the third year running, it really does a feel a bit like my home away from home.
This year, Splashy Fen sees a bit of a change as the management team has been completely overhauled. Despite my extremely brief exchange with the new Splashy Fen team, I must say that I have been mightily impressed. Already the new life that this team of passionate individuals is breathing into our oldest music festival is quite palpable.
This year sees the new management team tackle a whole bunch of new aspects, such as: increased security, fun activities for the whole family including yoga and trail runs, new venue layout, craft food courts, 4 unique music stages, a Splashy Country Club filled with craft breweries, lawn tennis courts and a charging station, vamped up camping options and of course, heaps of bands and music acts to wow all you music-loving fans. If the thought of heading to Underberg for the Easter long weekend, relaxing along the river banks to the sound of LIVE acoustic music, chilling out in the open fields with friends, craft beer and sunshine (maybe some nice muddy rain, too), and dancing the night away at the different stages is something that excites you, then Splashy Fen is probably the place you should be. Acts include: Xavier Rudd, Albert Frost, Dan Patlansky, Civil Twilight, Mango Groove, Niskerone, Veranda Panda, and an amazing line-up of over 100 artists across 4 unique stage areas.
There are still more than a few tickets waiting to be bought. You can get yours now here. Gates open at 9am on Thursday 24 March. Tickets include camping until Monday 28 March. No under 18s without parental supervision.
