It’s that time of the year when we have a look at festivals all around the world and weep silently at our computers because we cannot attend them all. Our Top Music Festivals in 2015 list features relatively unknown music festivals because we want you to see past the Glastonburys and Coachellas for a moment.
Snowbombing takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria. We’ve always been fans of the whole experience of mixing snow adventures, a great party and some of the best acts in electronic music in one arena and Snowbombing does just that. You’re going to be surrounded by a sky-high igloo, enchanted forest clearings, cosy alpine lodges and medieval barns. This year’s line-up has made us dumb with envy. The headliners include Skrillex, Fatboy Slim and Rudimental.
Dates: April 6th – April 11th 2015
Hangout Music Fest is a three-day music festival that is held at the beaches of the Gulf Shores in Alabama, USA. It’s on our list because of the beach experience and its line-up. Imagine three lovely days under the sun in front of your favourite acts. This year’s line-up features Foo Fighters, Major Lazer, Skrillex (he’s really getting around), Cold War Kids, ODESZA, St. Lucia and many more.
Dates: May 15th – May 17th 2015
OFF Festival is a boutique music festival that takes place in the Three Lake Valley in Katowice, Poland. It’s made our list this year because of its 2014 line-up. Festival attendees got to party to Neutral Milk Hotel, Belle and Sebastian, Chelsea Wolfe, Fuck Buttons, John Wizards and more.
Dates: August 7th – August 9th 2015
In 15 years a student movement fighting for freedom and democracy has managed to win the Best Major European Festival award in 2014. Their 2015 line-up has just gotten started and it includes Motorhead and Eagles of Death Metal in the initial release. The 2014 line-up of the music festival had Jamiroquai, Skrillex, Rudimental, Queens of the Stone Age, Disclosure, Afrojack, Pet Shop Boys, Hurts, Pretty Lights and many others. One of the things we admire most about this festival is how they are also a non-profit organisation. They managed to raise €140,000 for flood relief efforts in the Balkans. We can think of few music festivals that do as much good as they do.
Dates: July 9th – July 12th 2015
CRSSD is a new music festival on the USA circuit. The teams behind FNGRS CRRSD and Goldenvoice, the ones that handle Coachella, have come together in a power combo to create this boutique electronic music festival. You can already tell that it’s been set up to be an incredible experience. It will happen at San Diego’s Waterfront Park and it has a huge line-up. You can expect to see Chromeo, Classixx, Empire Of The Sun, Flight Facilities, ODESZA and many more. One of the reasons CRSSD has secured a spot on our list is because it’s a 21 and over event. Say goodbye to the little kids.
Dates: March 14th – March 15th 2014
